This week should have been a stressful week, as we come close to our first Project-R2 deadline, but for some reason it didn’t. The pressure felt less and I felt like a little bit more time to focus on me. Perhaps it’s a chicken-and-egg situation and spending a little more time on me has reduced my stress. Who knows, but anyway it’s been a good week with it’s usual amount of interesting titbits that are teasing for a deep-dive.

☁️ - The focus on this week as Project-R2, specially cloud, which was our first practice to take on the full operational run services. This meant a week of going to the finer details, scenarios planning and getting all the final sign-offs and approvals. Nothing particularly troublesome, but certainly more than your average onboarding activity and a indication of what to expect over the next month. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing over the next 35 days until the next practice comes online.

📕 - On Wednesday we have the first in a series on internal service design workshops. As we’re doing more and more work with regulated industries, it’s important that we take the time to ensure we have no gaps in our services, our reporting and all the finer details that support our customers when they are audited by third-parties. This is a very useful exercise and while we’re using Project-R2 and a walk-through scenario, the improvements out of these sessions with impact all our FCA/PRA regulated customers in the long run. Exciting times.

🧱 - I also had the opportunity this week to spend a couple of hours going through the cloud platform strategy for 2027. We have lots of platforms to upgrade, a couple of data centres to deal with and a few customer dedicated platforms that also require modernisation. Comfortable with the technology, but the plan is a complex one and was worthy of discussion. We might even need to grow the team to handle this, which I suppose is a good problem to have and a positive sign of our recent growth.
